Alma Johnson

Pastor Alma T. Johnson is a woman of God who brings to the RLF her love for God, strong moral character, good attitude, and the ability to look at the difficult challenges in life as an opportunity for God to glorify Himself in every situation.  She has over thirty years of work experience, much of which is supervisory in nature.  She has
demonstrated strong leadership ability in the corporate setting as well as in her own business.

God's call on her life for ministry to His people began early in her Christian life.  She has ministered to people in mental institutions, prisons, convalescent homes, and private homes.  She has taught Sunday school, led women's missionary groups, and has been a worship leader and seminar speaker. Her most recent ministry to women has been with "In His Presence International Ministries."

In 1975, Alma married the late Rev. Willie (Will) Johnson.  At that time a ministry to men was started in their home.  A feeding and clothing program was launched, which eventually moved to the streets of Los Angeles.  Several local inner-city churches became involved, including a similar program at Trinity Baptist Church in Los Angeles,
which still exists today.

In 1983, Alma and her husband traveled on a missionary journey to Jamaica, West Indies, where lives were touched and changed.  Needless to say, Will and Alma were changed also.

Another phase of ministry was launched in 1987, a dry-cleaning establishment, which gave men an opportunity to work in a wholesome Christian environment and gain experience for future employment.  Rev. Will Johnson went home to be with the Lord in February 1992, and Alma has continued the work they began together.

Pastor Alma currently serves as Sr. Chaplain of Women's Ministry in the Anne Douglas Center of the Los Angeles Mission.
