“All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
 2 Tim. 3:16-17

Believing that to be the irrefutable truth, at RLF we share the psalmist’s sentiment when he said in
Psalm 84:10
that he preferred being a servant in God’s house to living a life of ease where God does not dwell.  Thus it is with joy and honor that we can serve God’s house as service coordinators.  Paralleling the positions of the former nethinims of scripture, service coordinators are truly house servants.  Faithful workers who tend to the operation of the building enable pastors to concentrate on the things for which God calls them.  Such servants are invaluable to the local body.  These are the workers who ensure the light bulbs burn, the trash is emptied, church supplies are on hand, Sunday school rooms are put together and cleaned up.  They set up the sanctuary before service, vacuum, sweep, and do the mundane housekeeping chores after service.  These are the workers for whom thanks may be slow in coming, but the reward is great.

It was Christ who told us that anyone who would lead should do it as a servant.  As service coordinators we learn to work with joy, humility, and diligence until the task is completed.  Over the years at RLF it has repeatedly been the case that while working as a servant in God’s house , a leader rises from among the laborers.  Nearly all of our Church Council and department heads have risen from those who entered into service to the house, usually as a service coordinator. In fact, consistent service in this department is foundational to elevation in most other departments, with few exceptions.  In other words, when someone is spotted diligently working in this humble department, they are often sought after for promotion to other positions in the church because they have shown themselves to be consistent, dependable, humble and willing to do what is necessary.  Therefore, we call this department, “the proving ground!”

All adult and teen members, particularly new members looking to become involved, are invited to put their hands to the plow and their backs to the labor of the building and upkeep of the house of God.  If you are interested in working in this capacity, contact the church office or Sherri Price, who continues to head the service coordinators.

ALTER WORKERS
The alter workers ensure that they fulfill their duties at each service or activity.  The alter worker is responsible for requesting that the congregation follow their directives before prayer; for making sure that the rope used for regulating the line and cut-off is established an maintained; recording prophesies given by the pastor praying or other lay persons; for making sure that service coordinators on duty for the day are given first priority in the prayer line; assisting in catching individuals who may go down during prayer; to lay hands on those being prayed for; to make sure that the annointing oil is available and returned to its proper place after service in the storage cabinet; making sure that chairs are returned to their original position before prayer; and for putting cloths on ladies wearing dresses, etc., who are slain in the spirit.
