Birthed out of a vision for ministry, The Resurrection Life
Fellowship was begun in 1981 by Dr. Charles P. Morgan. He served a three-year apprenticeship under Rev. Gladys Eubanks (pastor and missionary in Africa for 25 years) of the Garden of Prayer Ministries, after which he was sent out by the elders to start his own church.

The first official service of the RLF was held in Pastor Morgan's living room, attended by only two other men. Through preaching on Venice Beach each weekend, and via word-of-mouth, the RLF began to grow exceedingly, nearly thrusting him out of house and home.

The RLF then moved to an unheated school auditorium in Santa Monica. How could we be called a church when there was no steeple? We were learning that the Church was the people who met together, and not the building in which they met. It is a lesson we are still learning.

In 1984 following a series of serendipitous events, God began to fulfill His promise to the RLF that included ministry into foreign lands. A team of four, including the Pastor, was sent to Malawi, Africa, to assess the needs there. Since then, the RLF has sent many more teams of missionaries, including our first full-time missionaries in 1990, thus establishing a permanent base of operations. We hope to expand our outreach to include China, Russia, India, England and various other countries. Our desire is to establish missionaries in those and any additional countries.
