NEWSLETTERS from Due South
The bringing about of
missionaries to South Africa birthed by God
It all started when
I was asked if I would like to go on a short-term mission trip
to Malawi & Cape Town, South Africa by my brother, Pastor Mark
Tallman & my senior pastor Charles Morgan back in 2003. I’m not
a missionary, although I decided to go on the trip asking the
Lord to move in my heart any way he would like towards these
people, the attitude was one of surveying the land.
It was just like the
Lord to put something new in my heart, like the idea of selling
everything I own and going to South Africa as a missionary. The
only problem was it was in my heart, but not in Tiffany’s heart
yet. When I was in the township of Ocean View, I let the people
know it would be 2 years, and I will return with my family, not
to live there, but to survey the land again, but as a family
(that would be in 2005).
Two years to the
month, we returned as I had said. It was August 2005 (not
knowing how it would be possible because it is very costly to
travel that distance with a family).
To back up, after
returning from my first trip to Africa, the Lord was speaking to
me about being a missionary there. I made this know to Tiffany
and this is when the Lord started to work in her heart. We sold
our house and moved closer to the church and began a bible study
every other Friday. This was our training ground in
becoming missionaries. We began to reach out to the
neighborhood as well as people in the church. At this point the
Lord was speaking to Tiffany about moving to Africa, when she
would go buy something for the apartment, she would put it back
because the Lord was telling her she was going to live in
Africa. This was taking place 6 months before all of us as a
family left for Africa.
God is amazing on
how he lines up everything, like selling the house to have money
to complete the task, moving on hearts to go, training us in our
own neighborhood to be missionaries. Even more amazing is that
God confirmed this to us by the Holy Spirit to go as well as
man. Before leaving for South Africa as a family, my pastor
wanted to meet with Tiffany and I to go over a few things. At
this time we were going to ask him what he thought about us
being full-time missionaries in South Africa. When we meet
with Pastor Morgan, he said he wanted to ask us something. We
said we had something to ask him as well. I told Pastor Morgan
to go first; he said in a nutshell, "Will you and Tiffany
consider being full-time missionaries, and if so, how soon can
you get there." I told pastor that is exactly what we were
going to ask him and that we can be there in 9 months to a year.
So after meeting
with Pastor Morgan, we put our plan of action in motion, setting
a target date exactly on year away. A couple of weeks later, we
got on the airplane and took off as a family to Ocean View South
Africa. As we were there surveying the land as a family, we
began to share our vision with the people there. Most of the
responses were expecting us to come and live with them and to
co-labor with them, they were not surprised but knew we were
coming. That was added confirmation from the Lord that we are
moving in the right direction. First, the Lord asked us to
go, then our Pastor asked us to go, and then the people in Ocean
View were expecting us to come. Wow!
One year has passed,
and July 31st 2006 is a couple weeks away to
departure, 4-one way tickets and no one is looking back. Africa
is now becoming our home and the Lord is enlarging our hearts
towards the people. Let us run this race with endurance,
looking to our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ for all things.

The Lord is passed finding out!
It truly has been amazing thus far, Percy had a man over 2 weeks
ago and
they call him Elijah. He truly is a prophet, he first
prophesied over
Percy’s family then one of his friends, he knew things that only
they and the
Lord knew. As well he spoke to Tiffany and me and told us
things that I had
written in my journal 2 years back that the Lord had spoken to
me about the
family, I do not want to say at this time what it was, but it
concerns future
events. Truly the Lord’s hand is on our lives and leads us by
His Spirit.
One week later we had a men’s meeting and Elijah was there and
we prayed and
sought the Lord together, he began to speak as the Lord directed
him, he
spoke into everyone’s lives again revealing things to them that
only the Lord
and they knew. He told me my new name is John the Apostle and
that I will
be traveling to the nations, and Asia was one of them. It is
interesting
because I talk a lot about the Chinese church and the "back to
Jerusalem
movement." They are going down the Silk Road to evangelize
2 billion Hindus,
Muslims & Buddhists. What he had spoken was too much to digest
or think
about at this time.
Also one man's sin was revealed in that he could not deny what
was said. We
are praying for restoration of this brother and not condemning
him, knowing
that one with a religious and prideful spirit is only looking to
fall
himself. This put a fear of the Lord in everyone; truly your
sin will find
you out.
It even gets better. On Sunday, we had an amazing church
service. The Holy
Spirit was moving in power in worship and prophecy. Elijah
spoke again and
he began to speak into different people’s lives as the Holy
Ghost led him,
revealing the deep things of the peoples hearts, even the Spirit
was poured
out on the children. He began to speak into their lives and
prophesy of
their gifting and the Lord’s keeping power. The tears were
flowing from the
children’s eyes even as young as 6-7 years old; the oil began to
flow upon
everyone’s heads. I do not think I have ever seen such power as
this
before. The strongholds of the devil were broken and freedom
reigned.
(Just a side note, the children of the church in Ocean View
prayed and
fasted for one week prior to this service; and had all night of
prayer as
well. Amazing the commitment of the children and how serious
they are, I
have never seen such commitment from elementary to
high-school-age kids.)
Then Elijah spoke to an old man and asked where his first born
daughter was,
seeing that he had a word for her. She, the daughter, stood up
(in her 50’s)
and said "I am she, and my father could not answer because he is
deaf." Elijah
had the daughter bring the man forward and called on the name of
the Lord to
heal him, now the man can hear!! This was truly a miracle and
the first for
many to witness, we are still basking in the after burner that
the Holy
Ghost left behind, and they had a party at Aunty Sally’s house
for her
father who can now hear, the celebration goes on.
On a different note, we are reaching out to our neighbors as we
did in Los
Angeles, the Lord is opening doors to speak about the good news
of the
Gospel and building relationships with neighbors and the body of
Christ. We
as a family witnessed and broke bread with some homeless people
closer to
the inner city; I spoke into a man’s life name Michael that I
believe God is
calling. We bought him a bible and encouraged him in the Lord.
He told me
a story that he went to church and they would not let him in
because he was
dirty and his clothes were worn out. So he told me that next
week he found
some better clothes and cleaned himself up and they kicked him
out a second
time because now he did not have a bible. He then began to tell
me how he
went to the corner of the building and falling down on his knees
began to
cry out to the Lord saying, "Why Lord will they not let me in?
I have done what
they have asked." He then said that the Holy Spirit spoke to
him and said
not to worry, He too has been trying to get into the church.
Wow!! Let us
take heed on how we treat the rich & the poor, not to give favor
to one over
another. As well, we are witnessing and following up with
people, available
to disciple them as the Lord would add them to The Church of
Christ. We do
see the parable of the sewer at worker in how the devil comes
quickly to
steal away what we have sown. We know one plants another waters
and the
Lord gives the increase, and the timing of salvation of one's
soul is in the
Savior's hands.
We love and pray for our church in the West. We miss you
all and covet your
prayers and support. The household is busy; Tiffany is truly a
teacher and
disciple to the kids and those around her. The kids are having
a wonderful
time and making a lot of friends here. There accent is changing
daily.
Sometimes when Luke & Hannah talk, I am not sure if these are
the kids that
came with me; they sound like Afrikaners.
Blessings to you, from Keith, Tiffany, Luke & Hannah.
THE FIRST MONTH + SOUTH
AFRICA MISSIONS

We have been on a journey thus far, spiritual attacks and
challenges on every side. The Lord is having us in a place of
waiting on him. We do not have a house at this time or a vehicle
to drive. It has been a good experience to see how the people
suffer here; they walk and take over crowded taxes, a few have
cars, but in poor condition. There is a lot of oppression and
depression among the people. Many children walk the
streets with no parents around; I am talking about 3 & 4 year
olds. You do see a lot of drugs and alcohol, gangs, etc.
At the same time we find community working together, looking
after those kids that may not have a parent at home, sharing
food and resources.
We are here for one reason: To encourage and to bring hope
to a dying world, to be a light in the darkness. The bible also
says that his people are the salt of the earth. When we
live our lives before the face of our creator, we will be salt
in the earth. Those around us will become thirsty for the Lord,
and the scriptures say that out of your belly shall flow living
waters. The people will come and drink from us the word of God
as they thirst for the life that you live, to see joy and peace
and restoration to there families. Let us live this Life for the
Lord Jesus Christ not in word only but also in deed as the book
of James says: James 1:22 "But be ye doers of
the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23
For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like
unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he
beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgeteth
what manner of man he was. 25 But whosoever looketh into the perfect
law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful
hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his
deed."
The
picture above is pastor Percy’s wife Pricilla to the right and
there son Dumisani with Hannah, we went to visit Pricilla’s
brother, who was hit by a car, by the grace of God he is
standing (above) in the photo after only one month.
Amazing! Please keep him in prayer. His name is
Andrew and he will be going for an operation on his spine next
month to fix fractures in his lower back. He does not
serve the Lord yet, but we are believing for his salvation.
We need to make this walk with Christ practical, to love our
neighbors as yourselves. If you love to go and buy yourself
something new, don’t just give your neighbor your old stuff, go
buy them something new as well and you will see that you just
loved your neighbor as yourself. When we begin to reach out to
others, you will find that God takes care of your needs; it is
said that if you seek first the kingdom of God, everything will
be added unto you. I find this to be true and can testify
it to be true in my own life; we can no longer sit back and let
the people around us perish, but must be people of action.
Luke & Hannah are making a lot of friends; they are not shy at
all. I can see that they are already great missionaries.
They are not afraid of what others think of them, but truly
speak what is on there heart. They really love and care
for two babies across the street, Caitlin & Tatum. The
picture below is Luke & Hannah with Caitlin. Our friend to
the right is sometimes found walking the streets of Ocean View
looking for little kids lunch sacks.
We have been praying for Ocean View community and are in great
expectation of change. We believe that the Lord will bring
revival here, instead of the conversations on the corners of the
streets being about partying and worldly things, it would be
about the goodness of the Lord. We are standing in faith for
Resurrection Life Fellowship as well that revival and a renewing
of the Spirit will fall upon the body there. Let us no
longer walk by sight, but by the spirit. Let us mount up
with wings as an eagle and soar above all circumstances.
Truly, if we were looking at what has happened thus far, we
would be disappointed, but instead we are looking to Christ the
author and finisher of our faith and seeking his kingdom first.
We know that the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, so
there is no fear but only hope. Don’t look at your
situation and be defeated, but look to Christ and he will see
you through.
We love you all and are grateful for all your prayers and
support.
Love, Tiffany, Keith, Luke & Hannah
MIRACLES AND FAITH -
FEBRUARY 28, 2007
Last night Keith
had a dream. In the dream he laid hands on 3 people.
He saw
the face of the first person a women missionary with cancer.
In the morning, he
spoke with Deon Johnson, a South African missionary in Ocean
View. Deon said
that a women missionary who is a friend of his was terminally
ill with cancer.
She was expected to die in a matter of days. However, he
said miraculously she
is recovering. Keith spoke of his dream and how he was
laying hands on her and
she recovered.
That afternoon a mute beggar came to Keith and
Tiffany's house. He had
a note that said I need help to pay my rent. When I get my
government check I
will pay you back. Remembering his dream, Keith said back
to him, "Would you
like to hear and speak?" The man nodded his head yes.
Keith preach Christ to him and
asked if he wanted Jesus to heal him. He nodded yes. Keith
laid hands on his
head and prayed. Jesus loosed his tongue and he began to
speak and praise God.
Keith, Tiffany, Luke, Hanna, and the man and his wife all begin
to shout praises to
the Lord in the street
The neighbor who they have been witnessing to beheld the whole
thing. She ran
out when she saw the mute beggar speak and believed in Christ as
well.
The neighboring couple have been calling everyone to tell them
what Christ did for them.
Keith and Tiffany are believing God will raise up a new body
through them. On
Sunday, the man who was mute is going to testify in Ocean View
Church.
Praise God for His Mercy.
Rejoice in the Lord!
